Instructions: Shoot the colored object balls and get position for the 8-ball in all 3 places shown here of all 3 diagrams.  Amount of english may vary depending on person's stroke, cue, tip, etc.

Note: the ball with the 3 red dots is the measle ball.

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT

Diagram 1 (above):

8-Ball Coordinates #.2 x 10 (left side) = Aim at the coordinate # 7 with a 30 degree elevation and a little draw (6 o'clock from your elevated view, ring 1) .   Make the CB contact the rail near coordinate #12

8-Ball Coordinate #7.8 x 10 (right side) = Aim at #6 with  a 45 degree elevation with a little bit of low and a lot of right (5 o'clock, ring 2) to help throw the ball in and bite off the end rail.  Try to hit the rail with the CB at #12

8-Ball Coordinate #7 x 12.8 (bottom right) = Aim almost straight on at the 3-ball with a 60 degree elevation (5 o'clock, ring 3). Hitting fuller helps hold up the cue ball and the higher elevation adds more throw.  Don't let the CB move more than 6".

STEADY, AIM, FIRE

Diagram 2 (above):

You will learn a lot about how your cue reacts to your specific stroke.  Stay steady and observe how much the cue ball deflects.  Keep your eye on the ball.  Calibrate when standing and then only focus on pocketing the ball.

Upper left 8-ball = Shoot the 2-ball with high left (11 o'clock, ring 3) and the CB with go to the other end rail and all the way back up for shape.

Upper right 8-ball = Lots of low right.  Dig in.  This shot should be very familiar and comfortable for you.  Shoot it until it is.  This is a very common shot and the #1 way to shoot this ball if it were the last one on the table.  Spin stroke with enough stroke to get to 3 rails.

Lower right 8-ball = (2:30 on CB, ring 2) and the CB will go 3 rails for shape on the 8-ball.  Make sure your CB hits near #11 to give you good shape.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

Diagram 3 (above):

What counts the most is that you put a good stroke on the ball.  Pay attention to the quality of the shot, not just the result.

Upper left 8-ball = 6 o'clock, ring 2.   Draw a little bit to the side rail near #3.  Hit hard enough to make sure to give yourself a shot on the 8.

Upper right 8-ball = Give it a good stroke with low right.  Get the cue ball to hit 2 rails hitting the 2nd rail near #7x13.

Lower right 8-ball = Low right to go across the center table for position.
